Description

The Ultrasonic Retainer Cleaner is a compact dental appliance cleaner that uses 42,000Hz ultrasonic vibrations and UV sterilisation to deep clean retainers, dentures, aligners and mouth guards in minutes. It works where soaking tablets and brushing fall short, reaching into every groove and crevice to remove bacteria, plaque and stains without scrubbing.

Four built-in UVC lamps target 99.9% of common bacteria including E. coli and Staphylococcus aureus, so your dental appliance comes out cleaner and fresher than manual cleaning alone. Choose between a 5-minute daily cycle or a 10-minute deep clean with one touch.

The 304 stainless steel tank holds up to 180ml and fits dentures, retainers, Invisalign aligners, jewellery and watches. Compact enough for a bathroom shelf, powerful enough to replace your cleaning routine. Free delivery on every order.

How to Use

Getting started

1. Place the cleaner on a flat, stable surface near a power socket.
2. Open the lid and add tap water to the stainless steel tank, up to the MAX line (180ml). Do not overfill.
3. Place your retainer, dentures, aligner, mouth guard or jewellery into the tank. Make sure items are fully submerged.
4. Close the lid, then plug in the power adapter (it has a UK plug, so use an Australian travel adapter). The display will briefly illuminate.

Cleaning

5. Tap the touch button once for a 5-minute daily clean (300 seconds). The timer counts down on the display.
6. Tap the button again to switch to a 10-minute deep clean (600 seconds). Use this for items that haven't been cleaned in a while, or for tougher stains.
7. The UV lamps activate automatically during the cycle. Do not open the lid while the cycle is running.
8. The cleaner switches off automatically when the timer reaches zero.
9. Long-press the button to power off manually at any time.

After cleaning

10. Remove your items and rinse them briefly under running water.
11. Empty the tank and wipe the inside dry with a soft cloth.
12. Leave the lid open for a few minutes to allow the tank to air dry.

Tips

For stubborn stains or odour, add 5 to 10 ml of washing-up liquid or a denture cleaning tablet to the water before starting.
Clean the stainless steel tank regularly to prevent mineral buildup from hard water.
Do not use bleach, mouthwash or abrasive cleaners in the tank.

What can I clean in the ultrasonic cleaner?

Retainers, dentures, Invisalign aligners, mouth guards, night guards, jewellery, rings, watches, earrings and small metal items. The 180ml stainless steel tank comfortably fits a full set of dentures. Avoid cleaning items with loose gemstones or soft materials like pearls.

Is it safe for Invisalign aligners and retainers?

Yes. The 42kHz frequency is gentle enough for all dental appliances including clear aligners, Hawley retainers, Essix retainers and thermoplastic trays. Ultrasonic cleaning is widely recommended by dentists as a safe, effective method for dental appliance hygiene.

What liquid should I use?

Plain tap water works for daily cleaning. For deeper cleaning, add 5 to 10 ml of washing-up liquid or a denture cleaning tablet. Do not use bleach, mouthwash or abrasive cleaning agents as they may damage certain materials.

How does the UV sterilisation work?

Four UVC lamps inside the lid emit short-wavelength ultraviolet light during the cleaning cycle. UVC light disrupts the DNA of bacteria, preventing them from reproducing. The manufacturer states it targets 99.9% of common bacteria including E. coli and Staphylococcus aureus.

Is it better than denture cleaning tablets?

Ultrasonic cleaners and tablets work differently. Tablets dissolve stains chemically over 3-15 minutes of soaking. Ultrasonic cleaners use physical vibration to blast debris from surfaces, including hard-to-reach areas tablets can miss. Many dentists recommend using both together for the best results - the ultrasonic cleaner for daily use, and tablets for an occasional deeper chemical soak.
